Blended Learning
Here at Mundella Primary School we have been blown away by the hard work and effort that pupils, and their families, have put into home study during this most unusual and testing of times.
This page has been created to share a range of online resources that have been identified to support our Mundella Pupils whilst they find themselves stuck at home.
In the first instance, the Homework Bingo Cards will still be there to support with activity ideas many of which will link to the current topic.
In addition, we will also direct you towards The Oak Academy; an online set of recorded lessons and resources. Teaching teams will direct you towards scheduled activities that will support learning from home.
If you do not have access to the Internet then using the online resources will be impossible.
If, whilst your child needs to isolate, you are unable to use the resources from The Oak Academy then make arrangements with school to collect a set of printed resources. These resources will, where possible, closely resemble the content and expectations of the Oak curriculum.
Homework Grids and Blended Learning
As you are aware from today we are moving to remote learning. As a school we have chosen to follow Oak National Academy curriculum to support children’s learning at home and for the children still attending school.
(more information)
Oak provides videos for each lesson lasting between 15-20minutes. The children can watch these lessons at any time during the day so it can fit best around their schedule especially if they need to share devices with adults or siblings at home. Ideally, watching the videos on a laptop, computer or tablet is best but they can be watched on a mobile phone as well. During the video, children are given activities to complete in order to demonstrate their understanding.
We are providing all children with an exercise book to complete their learning in (these can be collected from Wednesday 6th January). Children can also record any questions they would like to discuss with their class teacher. The teaching team will ring on an almost daily basis to speak to the children from their class and support them with their learning.

The Oak Academy
The Oak National Academy launched on Monday 20 April. This brand-new enterprise has been created by 40 teachers from some of the leading schools across England, backed by government grant funding. It will provide 180 video lessons each week, across a broad range of subjects from maths to art to languages, for every year group from Reception through to Year 10.
