    PE & Sports Funding

    Sports Premium Information

The Government is providing funding of £150 million per annum for academic years 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16 to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding.  This  money can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools to improve the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
For the academic year 2015/16, Mundella received around £8000.
    Our Aim:
To enable all pupils to have the opportunity to access a healthier, more active lifestyle.
How are we spending our money to improve the quality of PE and School Sport?
Primarily we have spent the money training our teachers to be better teachers of Physical Education. We have achieved this by bringing in sports coaches and teaching our staff with our own children.
We have brought in to the Shepway Schools Sports Partnership which organises competetive sports evenets for all year groups across Shepway.
Last year we worked in Partnership with Elite Community Coaching who provdied coaching for our sports clubs, lunchtime clubs and provided model lessons for our teachers. We would like to thank them for all their support in our sports development!
Some of the funding was used to provide sports clubs in school holidays - allowing children who would not normally consider going to a sports camp to have a funded place and really enjoy themselves as well as building sports skills.
Children train with a sports coach for our Football and District Sports team and Mundella won their first medal for Javellin at the last games at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford.
Our school football team have recently achieved their first point for achieving a draw in the group stages of the Herald Cup.
