    PE & Sports Funding

    Sports Premium Information

The Government has increased funding for this initiative over the following academic year with the intention to maintain  substantial primary school sporting initiatives and promote sporting involvement, healthy living and fitness.  This  money can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools to improve the quality of sport and PE for all of our children.
For the academic year 2017/18, Mundella will receive around £12,000.

    Our Aim:

To enable all pupils to have the opportunity to access a healthier, more active lifestyle.

How are we spending our money to improve the quality of PE and School Sport?

Primarily we have spent the money training our teachers to be better teachers of Physical Education. We have achieved this by bringing in sports coaches and teaching our staff with our own children; in order to embed a legacy of knowledge and skills within our team.

We have brought in to the Shepway Schools Sports Partnership which organises competetive sports evenets for all year groups across Shepway and offers a range of hosted support in activities that are new and challenging.

We have invested in skipping ropes for all pupils and staff. Through the support of Kent based Skip2Bfit, we are promoting fitness as a regular part of our school routine. Pupils can challenge themselves to beat their PB, personal best. We enjoyed a fantatstic skipping day to launch the initiative and we look forward to a significantly increased involvement as a result.

Last year we worked in Partnership with Elite Community Coaching who provdied coaching for our sports clubs, lunchtime clubs and provided model lessons for our teachers. We would like to thank them for all their support in our sports development!

We look forward to taking part in a greater number of team events this year. With the support of the Sports Funding Grant we are developing a number of teams in order to give broader opportunities to a greater range of pupils.
