Mundella Primary School

Aspire & Achieve

Teaching and Learning Leader- Mrs Lisa Paez

Our school values and mission statement 'Aspire & Achieve’ underpin our broad and balanced curriculum which incorporates a range of spiritual, moral, social and cultural opportunities.

Where possible, we try and theme our curriculum by linking a range of skills and subject areas to one topic. Occasionally, teachers may block subjects for continuity or progression.

Our school tries hard to provide children with range of exciting outdoor learning experiences that link to their topics. This inspires their learning and makes it more purposeful and relevant.

A variety of formative assessment strategies are used in every lesson to ensure all children have a range of opportunities to talk and receive feedback. This therefore, moves their learning forward and allows tasks to be pitched appropriately for each pupil.

We have started a whole school approach to Growth Mindset to ensure our children are ready to tackle challenges and understand that learning can take effort. We want them to have strategies to persevere and enjoy taking risks.

We have a specialist Music teacher who works with all our classes to teach them to play a range of instruments.  French is our chosen language that is taught throughout Key Stage 2.

Use the links to the left to find out what our children are learning about in each year group.
